About
Last updated:
videodownloader.world is a free website that saves public videos from social platforms as MP4 files. You paste the link of a video, and you get a file you can keep on your phone or computer.
The site exists because saving a public video should not require an app, an account or a subscription.
What the site can download
- TikTok videos, as MP4 files without the watermark.
- TikTok sounds, as MP3 or M4A audio files.
- Pinterest video pins, as MP4 files in 720p.
- Videos and GIFs from posts on X (Twitter), in every quality X stores.
- Facebook videos and reels, in HD or SD.
How the tools work
When you submit a link, our server opens the public page or the public embedded player for that post, the same one any visitor can open without signing in. It finds the video file the platform stores and passes it to your browser. The video is not stored on our server.
When a platform offers a video in more than one codec, the tools choose the H.264 version so the file opens in video editors and on older computers.
What the site does not do
- It does not download private posts, posts from private or protected accounts, or anything that needs a login to view.
- It does not ask for a login to TikTok, Pinterest, X or Facebook.
- It does not download live broadcasts, stories, photos or several videos at once.
- It does not raise the resolution of a video above what the platform stores.
