What Is a Pinterest Video Downloader?
A Pinterest video downloader is an online tool that turns the link of a public video pin into an MP4 file you can keep on your phone or computer. You give it a pin link, and it gives you the video file.
Pinterest lets you save a pin to a board, but a board is a bookmark and not a file. Pinterest's own download covers pictures, through the Download image option, and full-screen video pins whose creator has turned downloads on. That copy carries a watermark of the creator's username. A saved pin also disappears from your board when its creator deletes it.

The three steps are the same on every device. Only the place where the file lands is different.
iPhone and iPad
Use Safari on iOS 13 or later. Safari saves the video to the Downloads folder inside the Files app. To move it to your camera roll, open the file, tap Share, then tap Save Video.
Android
Use Chrome or any other browser. The video goes to the Downloads folder. You can open it from the Files app, and most gallery apps list it in a Downloads album.
Windows PC and Mac
Open pinterest.com in a browser, select the video pin so it opens on its own page, and copy the address. The MP4 is saved to your Downloads folder unless your browser is set to ask where to save each file.
Video Quality and File Format
Every download is an MP4 file with H.264 video. MP4 plays on phones, tablets, computers and smart TVs without a converter.
Pinterest compresses each uploaded video and stores a few versions of it. The largest MP4 version is 720 pixels wide, which is 720 × 1280 for a vertical video. A downloader cannot add detail that Pinterest did not keep, so a claim of 1080p, 2K or 4K Pinterest downloads is not realistic. Pinterest also stores an HEVC version, also called H.265. HEVC files are smaller, but many editors and older Windows computers refuse to open them. This tool skips the HEVC version and delivers the H.264 file, so the video plays and imports without a codec error.

Links to a board, a profile or a search page do not point to a single pin and will not work.
Why a Pinterest Video Will Not Download

- The pin is an image. This tool saves videos. A photo pin or a pin made of several images has no video file.
- The pin is on a private board. The tool sees only what a visitor without an account can see. Pins on private boards, which Pinterest used to call secret boards, stay private.
- The pin was deleted or removed. A link to a pin that no longer exists returns nothing.
- The video is hosted on another site. Some pins play a video from YouTube or another website. Pinterest holds no file for those pins.
- The link points to a board or a profile. Open the pin itself and copy its link again.
- Pinterest did not answer in time. This happens during busy hours. Wait a minute and try again.
Is It Safe and Legal to Download Pinterest Videos?
The tool is safe to use because it asks for nothing except a link. You do not sign in, install software or grant any permission. The video passes through our server to your browser and is not kept on the server afterward.
Whether a download is legal depends on what you do with the file. Saving a video to watch offline or to keep a copy of your own pin is ordinary personal use. Reposting, editing or selling another person's video requires that person's permission, because the creator keeps the copyright.
